I MADE IT!

Image
WHAT DID YOU GUYS SEE? Yeah!!! I made it!! Convocation will be in Oct 2013. Yeah its long but HECK! AS LONG AS I AM ABLE TO GRADUATE, I HECK THE DATE MAN. Hahahah, was pretty excited. I guess this is the best birthday present for me. Oh, talking about birthday, I had a celebration with the people I love and adore. Booked a room in Grand Corpthorne, had Joey, Jasmine, Anna and Xiao Wei to come over and had fun together. We had lots of laughs and I really did enjoy myself. I hope they enjoy too. Received two presents. First would be a Adidas Jacket (LOVE IT TTM!!). That jacket is so me! Second present was from my bestie, a puma wallet, which I actually told them to get me that. Hahaha, love it too. Colleagues are nice enough to buy me presents that shock me almost half a day. They bought me BB Cream, Mascara and one more item. Overall, the presents are all related to make up. Hahahaha. Thanks!! I am gonna cut short my hair. Just waiting for my mum to leave this country and t...

Big big big days coming!!

Before I start of what are the big days, I would like to comment on my previous blogpost of "New colleague, New energy". It is, in fact, new energy. There are in total 3 newbies.. One of the newbies was initially someone i thought to be nice, but in fact, he is not. I know its not nice to make comments on people, but the fact that what this guy has been doing is turning off everyone. I wouldn't say lazy but he is obviously not very helpful. He is super duper mindful of what he is doing.. He dont seems simple at all. Now, the other lady, a newbie as well, is somewhat drawing a clear fine line. Received a sms from her, which seriously, it is something that she can do as well, not just the CME. I am unsure if she is drawing such hierarchy of CM and CME or she really do not know what to do. Anyway, office is turning into a "Dont cross my line"pattern. The old batch of staff, I would say, we do help each other quite a fair bit (though we always seems to curse and swe...

New colleague, new energy!

If you guys knows me well enough, you all will totally agree that I am truly friendly and love making new friends. I love been in an always-changing-working-environment to spice my working life alittle. I never like dull and boring jobs, especially adminstrative. But wells, the more I try to avoid this, the more its coming to me, so now my attitude is ACCEPT IT WITH GRACE AND HUG IT LIKE THERE IS NO TOMORROW. I dont have choice lah so just take it lor. Anyways, I seriously like having new staff around. It simply create a new environment with new blood (this means the colleagues), able to have a good stir to the exisiting staff in terms of thinking and ideas. I guess RP has really taught me well enough to work in teams. I seriously appreciate whatever RP has taught me except for some of the modules lah, learn liao also no use that kind. The two new staff are ladies, young ladies. Looking at them, just graduated, first job, does makes me think about myself when I was new to the working...

Back to work

Quite a few changes happened when I was on my 2.5 months of leave. 3 colleagues quitted, one colleague got promoted, quite a number of new colleagues join us, and we have 2 temp staff to help us over the counter. I like changes and embrace them but these only applied to some of the changes lah. Changes like not having these 3 colleagues are one of it that I really hate to accept it. Changes in my job scope is really like a love-hate relationship. Sometimes I do love it, sometimes I don't. If there are changes in monetary (increment in pay) then of course I am happy lah. You see, humans hor, are really picky and only embrace the changes if it benefits us. A few changes in work. I am glad that I am able to take back the committee that I have been handling since last year October 2011. I am not so glad that there is a new job scope given by my director. Its a job scope I personally feel that it will not benefit me much but only to her. But wells, I accept it, embrace it and a...

My personal view as a Singaporean...

I have the priviledge of resting for about 2 weeks right after my internship which started off in July before I go back to my real "workerland". I take these 2 weeks to think through my life, my previous jobs, my achievement. I am glad that my path are a little different from the norm. A normal path for a Singaporean would be to pass and get your PSLE cert, enrol into a secondary school and pass the 'N' or 'O' Level, after which you proceed to either ITE, Polytechnic or JC for higher tertiary education and after this stage, for those who choose the path of ITE, they can either apply for enrolment into a local polytechnic (provided you have high GPA, everything in Singapore is about showing results, in numbers), or to further their studies in a private school with expensive school fees. As for those who have chosen to go Polytechnic or JC, they can enrol into a local universities (again, proven with good results, in numbers) or a private school. My path, of...

Weekend shiokness

The last time I had a SUPER DUPER LONG WEEKEND was probably prior in joining PA. The job that I am in now is a 2 shift job, and at times, for events like the Euro Soccer, we did all the screenings, thus, we have to do weird timing shift which is like in the midnight. I have myself from Saturday to Monday to really enjoy these days, all thanks to the malays who are celebrating their Hari Raya. In fact, I love to see the malays celebrating their festivals. Its like they will wear their traditional malay costume, where the best part is the family will wear the same color of costume, make some hand-made kuehs, sing some traditional Hari Raya festival malay song, hang up all the colorful lights, all the laughter and all... I am glad that Singapore is a multi-racial society, where each different races or ethnicity gets to see what each races do during their festivals. But it is also because of this, we tend to take it for granted. There are so many things in Singapore majority of us ta...

Practicum Site!

I am been posted to Residence @ St George, a girl hostel for aged between 16 to 21. To be frank, I am glad and happy to have my practicum done in this place. I am glad that the Head of the Hostel gave me a chance to do some planning and developing programs for the girls who are living in the hostel. Although I am not paid (yes, I even have to pay $1000 for this practicum), but I seriously enjoyed every minute of work there. When I first joined PA last year, I didnt have that feeling of enjoyment, but rather, I have the feeling of politics in office, everything has to be done carefully. In this residence, I seriously feel that I am welcome by the staff. One best thing about have few staff (a total of 5) is that everything can be done through communicating to each other. The office is just probably the size of 2 to 3 living rooms, even if you whisper, you can still actually hear each other. Alot of things are done hands on and everyone is given the freedom to decide what solutions or i...
